Location: Saudi Arabia MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Experience: 11 years experience as a Diver Mechanic. Must be able to give clear and concise reports in English. Must be able to swim. Must possess a valid driver s license.
The candidate must hold minimum of offshore diving qualification HSE Part 1 or IMCA equivalent. Must be a certified welder. The candidate should hold IMCA diving supervisor certification. The candidate should have competent knowledge in US Navy decompression procedures. The candidate should hold in-date valid offshore diving medical approved by IMCA or Saudi Aramco. A minimum of (5) offshore diving experience including minimum (2) years as diving supervisor. Experience in construction and inspection with working knowledge of rigging, underwater pipelines repairs, welding, and corrosion control. Should have a valid basic first aid certificate recognized by IMCA and/or Saudi Aramco. Should be fluent in English language speaking and writing.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directs diving work assignments and acts as liaison between the job and user Department as follows: Defines scope of work to be accomplished. Issues isometric or single line drawings with material take-offs to accomplish the diving jobs assigned. Insures a Work Standard is used for the type job performed and use same to give the estimated work duration to the user Department. Dives to inspect in-progress and completed work for compliance with Aramco Engineering and Construction Standards, pertinent to piping, structural or equipment. Supervises compliance of the diving work with Aramco or recognized authorities safety and loss prevention instructions at Aramco installations above or below water. This includes safety equipment as well as required work permits. Reports daily work progress against the Work Standard and explains exceptions. Critiques and reports job completion defining problem areas with recommendations for improvement, techniques that worked well to be repeated and changes to the Work Standard to improve work time. Includes as built drawings and any unusual bottom conditions or features not known or charted.
Liaisons with the Pipeline and Engineering Departments, that information is transmitted to them concerning piping,equipment or structural changes cathodic protection, corrosion control methods and that the Diving Inspector has the latest inspection and Engineering Standards and input into questionable findings underwater. Uses the Engineering Library as a source for drawings prior to performance of diving work. Reports specific job related performance of contract and Aramco divers after the completion of each diving assignment. Recommend areas for development of the individual and comment on strengths which can be utilized to improve job times.Trains other divers in fields required to became Diving Inspectors as outlined in this job description. Develops methods, techniques, equipment, special tools, jigs or devices necessary for performance of a difficult diving job. Prepares a hazardous repair procedure and trains divers in dry runs as necessary prior to any unusual or hazardous repair.
Supervises routine and unusual rigging jobs. Ensure safety and proper utilization of the rig selected and rigging equipment. G. Surveys underwater installations, ships, bottoms, drilling rigs, platforms to determine necessary repairs. Performs underwater work which requires the skills of welder, pipefitter, rigger and mechanic. Performs underwater surveillance which requires ability to operate inspection equipment and instruments, television equipment, underwater cameras, and to make sketches.Inspects, maintains and repairs diving equipment.
