Location: Saudi Arabia MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: BS Safety/Fire Engineering.
Experience: 10 years related to the petrochemical or ancillary industries in the field of loss prevention engineering. Experience should include areas such as: accident prevention, traffic control, fire prevention, health physics, hazardous materials, qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, process safety or accident investigation. Demonstrated knowledge of loss prevention engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, U.S. fire and safety codes, standards and specifications. Certifications, such as Professional Engineer, Certified Safety Professional, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager or Hazard Control Manager, are desirable but not required.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, schedules, coordinates and provides work direction for the preparation of studies, designs, reports, correspondence, statistics or other presentations to assure adequacy and conformance to overall objectives in the solution of Loss Prevention engineering problems.
Formulates and/or guides the formulation of the basis for engineering studies or projects in any of the areas of Loss Prevention engineering and assures analysis and evaluation as to scope, effect on existing installation, economic value, long-range planning and budgetary considerations.
Discusses, coordinates activities, and resolves loss prevention problems; developing factual and objective information.
Participates in the necessary measurement and evaluation of the effectiveness of any assigned loss prevention programs or procedures developed or modifications necessary to achieve optimum results.
Serves as one of the Loss Prevention Engineers periodically on-call for response to emergency situations and incidents in the assigned area.
Reviews technological developments and equipment to keep up-to-date on the devices and techniques designed to eliminate or minimize hazards and determines whether these developments and techniques have application in the Company.
Serves as a consultant to purchasing, standards, and methods to incorporate the applicable safety and health requirements in all purchasing and contracting specification as assigned.
Develops and promotes on-off job safety education material and programs for all Company employees.
Develops and recommends safety standards, codes, and procedures that become part of the operating instructions of the Company.
Performs miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
