Apply Deadline: 31 Jul 2008 Location: Houston, TX, USA An international oil consultant is actively searching for a Energy Consultant in the Houston, TX area. The Energy Consultant will generate and develop ideas for profit improvement in a refinery or petrochemical plants energy usage using computer models, spreadsheet calculations, client test runs, process and technical knowledge, and references. You will document these ideas and facilitate their implementation to deliver bottom line results through written reports and presentations to clients in formal and informal meetings. You must be able to work well as a team member integrating your process and energy usage knowledge and model results to achieve overall plant optimization ideas. Consultants will also be expected to assist in sales visits and proposal preparation. Candidates need a BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in petroleum refinery or petrochemical plant. Responsibility for the plants Energy and/or Utility Systems within an Operations environment is desired. Must be able to travel internationally for periods of 2-3 weeks, up to 25% a year; a frequent travel bonus is paid. Refinery process modeling skills are required. Good computer (spreadsheets) and communication (written and verbal) skills are required, and an understanding of refinery and/or petrochemical plant economics are essential.
