Job descriptionJOB PURPOSE:
- Manage all aspects of maintenance and equipment performance improvement in accordance with the specified demands of the project performance contract.
- Ensure that all strategies and recommendations made as a result of the strategic studies carried out during mobilization/transition are fully implemented, monitored and improved throughout the life of the Contract.
MAIN DUTIES:
- Establish and continuously improve all necessary systems, processes and procedures relevant for the professional management of maintenance.
- Lead technical staff in pursuit of critical equipment failure eradication, and minimisation of production loss due to maintenance related downtime, through the effective use/introduction of maintenance management support tools, including inter alia:
- Condition Based Maintenance (incl. CBMnet)
- Root Cause Analysis
- Problem Elimination Logic
A further focus will be on ensuring the quality of Maintenance Interventions, both in terms of shutdowns/overhauls and corrective works
- Liaise with Site Supervisors, Rotating Equipment Engineers and Overhaul Performance Manager to ensure smooth execution of the Overhaul/Shutdown Program.
- Liaise with client technical staff to ensure effective and professional monitoring and reporting of actual equipment performance and developing trends. Take those actions necessary to maintain/achieve the necessary levels of equipment performance.
- Work with corporate Technical Services to ensure appropriate engagement of additional support as necessary.
- Work to ensure the effectiveness of the client’s MMMS in supporting the maintenance function.
- Implement and continually improve the outputs of the equipment criticality review, maintenance strategy development, and equipment spares analysis.
- Direct the condition monitoring function to continually improve methods of non-intrusive equipment performance monitoring and review/assess condition monitoring data.
- Support the Project planning function so as to ensure that all works are properly planned in line with asset needs.
- Develop a competency strategy for technical staff and implement this appropriately.
- Prepare regular reports on the maintenance function inclusive of activity forecast information.
- Maintain an up to date awareness of equipment technological developments through appropriate means, i.e., review of periodicals, communication with vendors/OEMs, attendance at conferences/user groups, etc.
Requirements- An ideal candidate should have a Degree of Bachelor of Engineering – Mechanical (this may be waved in the case of a candidate having other exceptional attributes) with Fifteen years experience in a similar field, Ten of which in a supervisory position.
- Preferably with previous OEM experience at Rolls Royce, Allens & Bergen Diesel Engines & Weirs MOL Pumps is essential.
- An experienced maintenance manager with strong organisation/project management/leadership skills.
- With comprehensive knowledge of all types of machinery used in the field, such as Diesel engines, pumps, compressors, auxiliary equipment is essential.
- With experience in a similar role in a major process industry is essential.
- Should have worked in an overseas location - preferably a remote desert environment.
Other remarks- on a 28/28 or 35/35 rotation
