SENIOR GEOLOGIST – Energy, Oil, Refinery, Drilling** Houston, TX, USA
Status:Full Time, Employee
Occupations:Environmental/Geological Testing & Analysis
Relevant Work Experience:More than 15 Years
Career Level:Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff)
Education Level:Bachelor's Degree
OVERVIEW: Having been established more than 20 years ago, this Company has become the world’s leading consultant for the upstream oil and gas industry. The solutions provided span exploration, reservoir management, drilling, production, business-decision analysis and data management. Additionally, the firm also specializes in consulting services that link the knowledge and expertise of industry leaders with global best practices.
DESCRIPTION: The successful candidate will work within a senior multi-discipline team using advanced geoscience interpretation and best practices to evaluate and exploit opportunities in order to create significant improvements in recovery efficiency, well productivity, and development cost. Target projects for involvement are in resource plays (i.e.: stacked tight gas sands, gas shales, naturally fractured reservoirs, and coal bed methane) and certain mature GOM fields having good potential for further development using innovative technology applied within the context of advanced geoscience interpretation and past exploitation understanding.
The Senior Geologist will support prospect evaluation work by providing validation of pre-existing interpretations and play concepts as well as creating new interpretations (i.e.: depositional environment models, type logs, structure maps, isopach maps, cross sections, qualitative well log / mud log / core analysis, annotated bubble maps, etc.). Among others, the successful candidate will have access to the complete suite of integrated Landmark / GeoGraphix software.

QUALIFICATIONS: This successful person must have at least an undergraduate degree in Geology and a minimum of 15 years of relevant industry experience which includes work for an oil company or consulting company as a development / exploration geologist and significant GOM field experience. This will be a significant learning and professional growth opportunity since the successful candidate will work on a number of vastly different project evaluations each year in many of the industry's hottest onshore plays as well as the GOM.
SALARY: Competitive annual base salary NEGOTIABLE, plus Full Medical Dental Vision (HMO and PPO), Retirement Plan, 401K, IRAs and Roth IRAs, Quarterly and Performance bonuses, Paid relocation is available.
