Field based QA /QC inspector working as the Client representative responsible for supervising various contractors / sub contractors engaged in the implementation of range of projects associated with the development of a desert based onshore oilfield

Major Duties/Tasks (day-to-day tasks & activities)
• By physical inspection, monitor daily field construction operations to ensure compliance with approved Quality Plan
• Monitor progressive documentation compilation by various Contractors for work being carried out to ensure that a full close out of the contracted work can be achieved rapidly following completion of the work
• Identify any detrimental trends and advise field based Construction Supervisor and Contractor of concerns. Raise NCR’s for management system and procedural deficiencies.
• Inspect and monitor Contractor welding procedures, performance and NDT activities ensuring compliance with specifications. Complete Inspection surveillance forms for welding and testing operations.
• Monitor hydrotesting activities, monitor all punchlisting against P &ID’s as a process check and against all isometrics for mechanical checks, witness and endorse final test packs.
• Liaise with Contractor QC to ensure that any and all project or specification amendments are administered appropriately
• Review documentation received for Contractor procured material to ensure compliance with specification and company, project or industry standards.
• Prepare weekly QC reports
• Promote awareness of the Company Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality policies and procedures in order to achieve fit-for-purpose Construction and Commissioning engineering.
• Advise COMPANY Construction Supervisor and or Head of Construction of any safety concerns and generally be vigilant on all matters of safety, reinforcing OPQL’s safety policies and commitment to safety to the Contractor at all times. Provide input to COMPANY’s near miss and incident reporting systems.
• To monitor the competence of contractor staff to meet the requirements of the project and to maintain the appropriate professional standards for the project execution.
• Responsible for ensuring the correct and proper implementation of the Management of Change process with regard to any deviations to project activities and work scopes.
• Provide input to company progress reporting systems as required.

Requirements (Education, background, experience, skills)
A minimum of 15 years Oil & Gas industry experience within a multi-discipline facilities and construction environment. HNC or equivalent in a recognized engineering discipline.

• Strong team player with good interpersonal and management skills
• Ability to effectively interact with management, construction and engineering contractors, vendors and any other COMPANY departments to facilitate flow of information
• Results focused with demonstrated ability to meet schedules within budget
• Good computer skills
• Ability to handle multiple assignments with a focus on meeting deadlines

Additional Desired Qualifications
Member of the Welding Society and to have valid in date CSWIP registration / paperwork minimum.
