CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR (P/M – MVC / CPFS)

• Interior based Construction Supervisor experienced in the supervision of multi- discipline EPC contractors and sub-contractors contracted for the construction and commissioning of high value EPC contracts associated with the development and expansion of the Mukhaizna onshore oilfield.
• Construction supervisor as part of COMPANY’s site management team will be accountable to the Construction Site Manager for the supervision of all technical, quality and HES aspects of the work as performed within his assigned area by the various EPC contractors and sub-contractors.

Major Duties/Tasks (day-to-day tasks & activities)
• Responsible for providing supervision with direction and support for all Project Construction Personnel within an assigned area or specific EPC contract(s).
• Responsible for ensuring MEI completion of the specific EPC contract(s) is achieved by the EPC contractor in accordance with the Contract.
• Responsible for providing input to the project progress reporting systems for all construction activities within an assigned area or specific EPC contract(s).
• Responsible for maintaining the highest possible productivity, by forward planning and thinking. Liaise with the COMPANY Construction Site manager and associated contractor supervision personnel to ensure the safe and timely execution of work.
• Responsible for ensuring that all construction work is carried out in accordance with project priorities and schedules as set out in the integrated plan.
• Responsible for ensure that all construction work is carried out in accordance with approved project Contract and associated documents and drawings.
• Responsible for the communication of best practices, through discipline or project guidelines.
• Responsible for promoting awareness of the Company Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality policies and procedures in order to achieve fit-for-purpose Construction and Commissioning engineering.
• Responsible for advising the Construction Site Manager of any safety concerns and generally be vigilant on all matters of safety, reinforcing COMPANY’s safety policies and commitment to safety to the Contractor at all times. Provide input to COMPANY’s near miss and incident reporting systems.
• Responsible for monitoring the competence of contractor staff to meet the requirements of the project and to maintain the appropriate professional standards for the project execution.
• Responsible for ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with the Company Permit to Work procedures.
• Responsible for ensuring the correct and proper management and implementation of the Management of Change process with regard to any deviations to project activities and work scopes.
• Responsible for the Identification of any detrimental trends during construction and advice Construction Site manager and Contractor of the concerns.
• Foster and manage good relationships with Contractors onsite supervision personnel, correct Non-conformances as required.
• Advise the Construction Site manager in a timely manner of any technical or schedule problems and provide the necessary inputs when developing suitable solutions in conjunction with the rest of the project team.
• Responsible for co-ordination with QA /QC department to ensure project quality is maintained and all testing is carried out in accordance with project procedures and policies.
• Responsible to work with the QA /QC department in the development of handover / test packages and associated documentation as prepared by the Contractor.

Requirements (Minimum education required, background, experience, skills)
• A minimum of 15 years Oil & Gas industry experience within a multi-discipline facilities engineering and construction environment with proven supervisory experience in a similar capacity of which 5 years minimum is required to have been spent in the Middle East.
• For this position a bias of civil, earthworks, structural, piping and mechanical experience is required.
• Must have proven previous experience in the execution of EPC contracts either within the client or contractor organization.
• It is envisaged that candidates will have a recognized engineering qualification (diploma or similar) but the ability to demonstrate proven experience and an excellent track record in a similar environment is considered to be of greater importance.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential. Frequent interchange and completion of job tasks depend to a large part upon effective interaction with others.
• Must possess the ability to recognize problems in advance, and develop solutions with the appropriate action steps within structured and/or defined judgment parameters.
• Must be a strong team player with good interpersonal and supervisory skills
• Must be possess the ability to effectively interact with management, construction and engineering contractors, vendors and any other COMPANY departments to facilitate flow of information.
• Must be PC literate and skilled in the use of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook as
