Refining & Marketing Manager

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor s Degree in Economics, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. MBA preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 15 years in the downstream oil industry with broad knowledge of the following areas:

The dynamics and contractual practices of the international crude, product and oil freight markets.

Refining, petrochemical and product trading economics.

Strategic, business and operational planning, project appraisal and performance analysis relating to the refining, supply and distribution, and marketing of petroleum products to end-use consumers.

Domestic product distribution and marketing to wholesale accounts and retail outlets.

Familiarity with the East of Suez petroleum market area, competition and future prospects.

Basic olefins and aromatics markets and their downstream derivative markets.

Candidate should have the following attributes:

Resourceful, questioning, high analytical and numerical skills, literate in personal computer use.

Able to operate in a multi-cultural, large-company environment in a foreign location.

Able to integrate production, supply and marketing issues into commercial analysis in order to identify and balance all relevant risks and rewards, i.e., overall business acumen.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

(In the Joint Venture Development & Coordination Dept)

Assist management to optimize Saudi Aramco s interests in its oil Refining & Marketing (R&M) Joint Ventures via the analysis of their activities. Mentor the development of Saudi nationals to serve in this role.

Specific responsibilities include:

Review the business plans, investment proposals and ongoing performance of existing R&M Joint Ventures from a commercial perspective. Communicate, advise and recommend as appropriate.

Formulate proposals for the modification of existing commercial relationships.

Develop proposals for the establishment of new R&M Joint Ventures.

Facilitate the growth of mutually beneficial transactions amongst Group companies.
