Description:
As a member of the Development Team, based in Calgary, your primary focus is the development of Talisman Energy resources. Working in a multi-disciplined team environment with professional engineers, geoscientists, landmen and technologists, you will use your technical and entrepreneurial skills to identify and evaluate exploitation opportunities and recommend development strategies.
Responsibilities include:
Evaluate and drive development projects to generate production and reserves growth while managing a large budget. These projects include drilling, completions and infrastructure developments.
Provide sophisticated economics and risk analyses to justify development projects.
Work with production and operations staff to manage and optimize base production and prepare field depletion strategies to enhance recovery and production.
Ensure overall regulatory compliance of projects and manage submissions to government agencies.
Provide engineering support to identify, screen and evaluate acquisition opportunities.
In partnership with your multi-disciplinary team, recommend optimal methods for executing well work.
Manage the reserves for your area using strong reservoir engineering principles.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in a related Engineering field combined with three or more years of experience in reservoir / development engineering. You have strong analytical skills and are able to formulate and implement development strategies. You have excellent interpersonal skills, well developed leadership skills and effectively interact with management and cross-functional team members to advance projects and ideas. You thrive on independently managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, results orientated environment which is committed to safe operations.
