Nickel West comprises five outstanding Western Australian-based assets, in terms of operating capability, scale, environmental standards, diversity, technology and development projects.
Think Opportunity
An exciting Perth based role is now available for a Senior Employee Relations Advisor. Reporting to the Manager - Employee Relations, this position will draw on your skills in supporting Nickel West employee relations strategy and facilitating measures to support direct employment relationships.
You will also work with our contract partners to achieve sound employee relations outcomes across Nickel West sites. With the changes in Industrial Relations laws, this role will also offer the chance to deal with employees at all levels whilst promoting a greater profile for the ER team. This position is a fixed term role for a period of twelve months.
Think Purpose
The Senior Employee Relations Advisor is responsible for providing functional support to our operations to facilitate the implementation of Nickel West’s Employee Relations Strategy. The role will also focus on contractor management to ensure sound employee relations policy thus meeting legislative requirements.
The Senior Employee Relations Advisor will also be accountable for providing specialist advice to our Human Resource Departments on site and preparing for planned shutdowns. You will also provide assistance in relation to disciplinary issues and employee grievances.
Think Requirements
Due to the changing nature of current legislation, we envisage the suitable applicant will be currently employed in a similar role with a proven background in working at a unionised site. Suitably qualified with a degree in Industrial relations, you must also have knowledge of investigation, performance management and disciplinary processes.
On a personal level, you must have strong negotiation and presentation skills, be able to communicate with employees at all levels, be a clear and creative thinker, have advanced skills in report writing and able to implement practical solutions.
Extensive travel required for this position.
