Tax Accountant-Australia/Asia Tax Team

Position Synopsis

This position provides accounting support for income and indirect taxes for Petroleum Group’s Australia/Asia assets. The role performs monthly Income Tax and Indirect Tax accounting activities and includes the specialised area of PRRT. This position participates directly in the preparation of reconciliations, deferred tax proofs and tax returns for those assets in the Australia/Asia region. The incumbent is also responsible for routine tax compliance activities in each of these areas. In order to perform these duties you will be required to liaise directly with Global Business Service Centres and Finance officers in various regional assets on a regular basis.

This position reports to the Finance Lead - Australia/Asia Tax.
Skills and Experience

To successfully secure this opportunity, you will ideally be a graduate of an Accounting, Commerce or Business degree. CA or CPA qualifications would be highly regarded. Your experience so far in your career will have exposed you to tax accounting perhaps in a large commerce organisation or Chartered Accounting firm. Oil & Gas experience and knowledge of corporate income tax, PRRT and other indirect taxes in Australia is also desirable.

Your computer skills incorporate proficiency in SAP R/3 and electronic document management systems.
