Basic Purpose:
Functional supply chain excellence leadership and effective risk management for all arrangements relating to Gulf of Mexico Production Unit Contracting & Procurement activities. Develop and implement contracting strategies focused on driving HSEC best practice, optimisation of contracting services to meet business requirements, standardisation of documentation and automation, increased service levels across the Production unit operations.

Key Accountabilities:
* Assurance of global compliance with BHPB Corporate, CSG and S&L policies, procedures and statutory requirements
* Drive commercial contracting and procurement excellence and manage risk effectively
* Increased operational efficiencies by optimisation of contracting and procurement services
* Improved relationships with internal customers, functional teams and other BHPB Sites
* Improvements in Service Levels
* Increased data accuracy, management ownership and user trust / confidence in the GSAP and Contract management systems
* Improved control and decision making using standard tools available in the system
* Increased visibility / audit ability across the integrated supply chain and an understanding of the mutual impacts of process aligned teams
* Improved lead time performance within contracting process ensuring contracts are awarded in timely fashion to meet business requirements
* Maintain an accurate contracts register reflecting all relevant Operations contracts’ status including performance data
* Improved contractor relationships
* Market intelligence and forecasting / demand planning
Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key contractors to ensure best service, commercial terms, surety of services for PU operations
* Ensure ‘best value ‘ achieved by competitive tendering, effective negotiation, contract structure and management
* Accurately quantify, classify and record Supply savings in Benefits Capture System (BCS
* Align contractual, commercial and risk guidelines and approval policies to ensure effective governance
* Internal/ external benchmarking activities to achieve continuos performance improvement (HSEC, QA, Cost, Schedule etc.)
* Mentor, train and develop contracts personnel
* Awareness of PU operational activities and ensuring that the contracts and procurement team is working closely with Contract Sponsors/Business Users and other functions to ensure contracting and procurement processes are implemented in timely fashion to meet business requirements (Contracting Strategies, Risk Assessments, Tendering Process, Negotiation, Contract Documents etc.)

* University Degree or equivalent. (Engineering preferred)
