Senior Engineer

Reporting to the Superintendent - Long Range Planning & Projects, you will provide medium-term design interaction with operations planning to maintain options for future push-backs or underground extraction and provide input to Closure Planning to ensure cost-effective, engineered and environmentally sustainable designs. You will provide guidance and expertise to enhance the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the department’s long term planning function and promote the philosophy of designing for closure.

The successful candidates will have a combination of the following expertise: Mine Engineering or Geology Degree, with experience and leadership in a range of commodities, in both operating and technical roles. A Second or Graduate Degree in Business Management is a definite asset. Strong communication, financial evaluation and interpersonal skills are essential. In addition, Vulcan or XPAC experience is highly desirable.

This temporary 2 year assignment is located in our Yellowknife Office with the hours of employment being 8 hours a day, Monday through Friday. Regular travel to the EKATI Diamond Mine is required. The incumbent is expected to reside in Yellowknife, relocation assistance is available. Excellent salary and benefits are available to the right candidate
