Job descriptionThe incumbent role will be to influence achieving HSSE excellence throughout clients Oman’s sites and activities.
You will be, in particular, the focal point for Process Safety management and will play a leading role in:
• Providing competent and professional safety engineering support to Oman including review of contractor’s & consultants’ design documents for pipelines, process plant etc, development and review of Project HSSE Plans and Safety Cases
• Facilitating a risk-based approach to the design, construction and operation of Oman facilities
• Advising on development of cost effective HSSE risk control strategies
• Ensuring operational risks, including major hazards are being adequately identified and managed to as low as reasonably practicable
• Establishing best practice and sharing learned lessons to support continuous HSSE performance improvement
• Influencing behavioural change supportive of a positive culture
The successful candidate will be a team player with strong interpersonal skills and will have a:
• Broad experience of oil and gas industry
• Broad experience in application of codes such ASME B31.3, B31.4 & B31.8
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Chemical Engineering
• Sound knowledge of safety engineering tools and techniques including HAZOP, HAZID, ENVID, SIL
• Sound experience in risk and asset integrity management
• Practical experience of Safety Case development
• Experience of managing contracted work
RequirementsHSSE Exp and design, focus is on evaluating major hazards/risks and HSE plans at the design stage and through implementation.
