Responsible for managing the technical design, maintenance, and integrity of the various gas gathering and transmission pipelines in the El Paso Texas Gulf Coast Division, as well as the associated Federal and State regulatory compliance programs.
- Participates as a technical advisor on project teams responsible for the design of natural gas pipeline systems and facilities.
- Participates in the development of establishing pipeline design standards and material specifications as well as typical practices and procedures use in construction and operation of pipeline systems.
- Responsible for developing a pipeline Integrity Management Program and Operations Manuals and Programs that are compliant with the appropriate State and Federal regulatory agencies as well as supporting the safe, reliable operation of the Division’s natural gas pipeline systems and facilities.
- Responsible for overseeing the development and execution of all aspects of the Division’s DOT Pipeline Operations compliance effort including operations & maintenance, qualified operator training, corrosion inhibition, cathodic protection, public awareness, and one-call notification procedures.
- Participates in collaborative inter-departmental team projects to enhance exploration and production opportunities by insuring pipeline projects are aligned with the Division’s strategic goals while maintaining the appropriate safety and regulatory compliance standards.
- Position reports to the Division Production Superintendent as part of a facilities oriented team that includes production engineers, technicians, draftsmen, and regulatory personnel.
- Moderate travel to the field is anticipated.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Petroleum preferred).
- 12-15 yrs related work experience in the oil and gas industry to include experience in pipeline operations, maintenance, and design with fluent working knowledge of regulatory compliance programs.
- Knowledge of regulatory codes, standards, and formal safety compliance programs (DOT, TRRC, etc).
- Strong organizational skills to develop, recommend, and implement the appropriate pipeline regulatory compliance and safety programs.
- Solutions oriented with the ability to take a lead role in overseeing the implementation of projects and regulatory compliance programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
