SYNOPSIS OF POSITION:

Applications are invited from suitably qualified developing professionals who are interested in becoming part of the BHP Billiton Petroleum Human Resources team. As the Human Resources Analyst you will report to the US Country Human Resources Manager and be the key transactional support contact in the provision of an effective HR service to enhance the overall business outcomes.

This position is ideal for someone who graduated in the past 2-3 years and is looking to step up and into a busy office of HR professionals.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development

• Alignment with the BHP Billiton operating principles and Charter Values

• Being the primary user, and holding accountability for the integrity and completeness of our information system data, and ensuring compliance with the agreed approvals framework.

• Creating and storing of documentation, hard and soft copy, pertaining to all the activities associated with the operation of the HR function.

• Working closely with the HR Advisor and HR Manager to support all the initiatives and activities across the HR calendar.

• Assisting candidates, employees and supervisory personnel to understand the documentation, processes and HR services available.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

As an enthusiastic and fast developing professional with strong customer service you will be in a good position to support the HR function within BHPB Petroleum. For success you will:-

• Possess a HR degree, related degree or equivalent.

• Preferably have experience working within a busy HR environment with advice and administrative responsibilities as part of your work.

• Be confident with working largely unsupervised and in a dynamic environment.

• Have the ability to understand and interpret information quickly, and be able to inform others with accuracy, tact and diplomacy.

• Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written & oral), with a genuine interest in making a difference on the people-side of the business.
