Manufacturing client has an IMMEDIATE NEED for a Service Technician in NY. You will need an Associates Degree in mechanical, math, or science. The client is interested in candidates with various levels of experience including entry level. Training will be provided. You will need a strong mechanical aptitude and any knowledge of vacuum equipment is a definite plus. Must be able to learn to operate basic machine tools- lathe, mill and radial drill. The ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with customers is essential. You will be responsible for all aspects of technical service work both in-house and in the field. You will be required to work with senior levels of customers, management, engineers and technicians. Conduct maintenance and operation seminars for customers, provide start-up assistance of new equipment and train operating personnel in its use, operation of miscellaneous test floor equipment and systems and receive and handle customer calls related to service problems. Frequent travel required, travel will include domestic and overseas. Local candidate preferred.
