Senior Buyer

CCL has been asked by a major international oil company to provide a Senior Buyer to be responsible for the procurement of materials and equipment on the most advantageous terms that meet company requirements and ensure compliance with Company, JV and Governmental requirements. Travel as required by Client. Remuneration will depend on experience and qualifications. This is a key position with good long-term prospects with a very progressive US oil company.
Bachelors Degree Supply Chain, Business related. Procurement of a wide range of materials utilizing SAP systems and interfacing with suppliers / internal peers. Ensure integration with planning systems and alignment with department goals and internal peer requirements to achieve the optimum procurement solution. Fluent written and spoken English. US residency or work permit essential.
Minimum 8 years' experience in the oil and gas industry preferably in an upstream or plant environment. Experience in supporting international sites. Refining and gas related supply chain management experience in offshore projects. It is an organizational support position and so is not project orientated. Develop Purchase Order, Purchase Agreement or Contract documentation. When required, work with Company’s freight forwarder. If appropriate, conduct a site visit (or arranges for a third party expediting visit). Use procurement methodologies appropriate to the business needs and long-term development of relationships with suppliers. Maintain a range of suppliers who have the capability to cost effectively meet Client requirements. Coordinate / participate in negotiations with suppliers, including the development of negotiating strategies and documentation, evaluation of bids; provide commercial input and assist in the development of an award recommendation. Develop methods of measuring the operational and cost effectiveness performance of supplier. Arrange periodic review meetings with suppliers and verify compliance with any cost based framework pricing agreements and to discuss operational performance. Support Supplier Diversity corporate and business unit goals in all sourcing activities. Continuously seek growth in knowledge of applicable commercial skills and tools.
