A large independent exploration and production company is recruiting for Production Engineers to work in Anchorage, AK. Production Engineers work closely with North Slope-based Reservoir Engineers and Anchorage / North Slope Operational Groups to maximize oil production and reserve recovery. Production Engineers are the 'eyes, ears and knowledge base' for on-site operational decisions to increase work efficiency, reduce operating costs, and deliver budgeted oil rate.
Responsibilities
The Anchorage based Production Engineer may be responsible for:
• Providing engineering/operations support for 300-400 wells (producers and injectors).
• Identifying and pursuing optimization opportunities for underperforming wells.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting producing and injection well performance on a day-to-day basis by analyzing trends in the fieldwide SCADA system.
• Initiating and preparing wellwork procedures (electric line, slickline, coiled tubing, etc.).
• Coordinating prioritization and execution of rate adding work for GKA fields.
• Conducting well tests and compiling production rate plots for monthly production allocations.
• Optimizing artificial lift methodologies - gas lift, electric submersible pumps, and hydraulic jet pumps.
• Preparing economic evaluations to maximize operational decision making outcomes.
Qualifications
Basic/Required Qualifications
• Authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
• Bachelor's of Science degree or higher in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering.
• Three years or more direct petroleum engineering experience.
• Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with Arctic Operations.
• Commitment to stringent safety, environmental, and ethical standards.
• Strong communication, presentation, teamwork, and problem solving skills.
• Individual must be a self-starter, project initiator, and have demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Comprehensive well testing and well workover experience.
• Extensive artificial lift design and optimization experience.
• Strong multi-tasking skills with ability to manage multiple ongoing activities.
• Understanding of plant and process facility operations.
• Mentoring skills for utilization when mentoring junior engineers.
• Demonstrated capability to interface with other engineers and Operations personnel of varied disciplines and backgrounds.
• Professional engineering certificate is a plus.
