40% Field/60% Office, Austin, TX Location
Excellent career opportunity for the hands-on, Sr. Drilling Engineer who possesses solid onshore drilling experience with an active oil and gas operating company. This is a high visibility role where you will take responsibility for well planning and successful execution of drilling while staying within AFE budget. The company's drilling emphasis is east Texas (50%), west and south Texas (50%).
To qualify for this newly created role open due to growth, you must possess the following:
*degree in engineering
*8 - 20+ years drilling experience with an active operating company
*strongly prefer drilling experience to encompass east Texas
*ability to work well on own with limited supervision
*have strong awareness of costs and once drilling expense is AFE'd stay within budget
*ability to find and negotiate best deals with drilling contractors
This job requires 40% field time overseeing drilling when in progress and 60% office time doing well planning and budgeting. Will have help of company hired contract personnel at field locations but must be there during casing and completions to represent owner interests.
