POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a senior level onshore Landman position which works closely with the technical team in the assigned business unit within the Americas Technical group. Good working knowledge of onshore land activities including land ownership, land titles, lease agreements and contract required. This position reports to the Onshore Land Coordinator.
ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Monitor and disseminate land activities and actively supervise lease broker activities
• Develop and maintain land maps and ownership reports for assigned prospects and lead areas
• Advise management of lease play activity in assigned area(s)
• Recommend land acquisition/divestiture strategies to managment
• Prepare and administer land contracts, including operating agreements, farmouts, farmins, term assignments, leases and options
• Monitor lease acquisition expenses including bonus and brokerage expenses
• Prepare and monitor Lease Acquisition AFEs and prepare supplements as needed
• Participate in regulatory compliance matters including unitization, spacing/drilling unit hearings, and force pooling hearings
• Develop industry contacts and work diligently to develop good business relationships that will bring forward opportunities
• Work closely with geologists, geophysicists, and engineers on technical team to develop opportunities
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
• 5 to10 years of onshore land experience
• Ability to work with accounting, land records, division order, and drafting departments and other related business departments within E&P
• Strong communication and presentation skills required
• Good computer skills essential with emphasis on Word and Excel programs
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
• Petroleum Land Management Degree or Bachelors degree in related discipline with onshore land experience
