Our client is a leader in the development and delivery of advanced product and service offerings for the global oil and gas industry. One of their business units is a worldwide technology leader in the inspection of oil and gas pipelines with an international presence in 8 major cities worldwide. Due to their rapid expansion; they are currently looking to add to their team a Pipeline Field Technologist.
The successful candidates’ main responsibilities would include:
¿ Operate inspection equipment used for integrity monitoring and ‘live’ pipelines.
¿ Base and infield commissioning, maintenance and repair of electro-mechanical inspection equipment and associated plant using established guidelines and procedures.
¿ Front-line troubleshooting of electro-mechanical inspection equipment
¿ Assist in training of client and sub-contract personnel involved in the inspection activities
¿ Liaise effectively with client in job planning, execution, support and feedback
¿ Provide external and internal timely and accurate professional reports
¿ Ensure all in-fields activities carried out safely complying with company Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) guidelines and procedures
¿ Complete other assignments and projects as directed by management
Required qualifications include:
¿ Electrical and/or mechanical engineering diploma or certificate
¿ Minimum 3 years experience in an in-field engineering environment in mechanical and/or electrical disciplines
¿ Experience in a ‘hands on’ engineering/technologist role
¿ Ability to travel most of the time with no restrictions (domestic/international/offshore)
¿ Excellent skills in troubleshooting different in-field issues
¿ Valid drivers license
Experience and certification in the following areas are preferred:
¿ In-field engineering experience in the oil and gas sector
¿ Valid offshore survival certification
¿ Six Sigma Green belt certification
