Location: Houston, TX, USA
Excellent Outside Sales Engineer position in the Oil & Gas industry with a prominent engineering firm at its Houston, TX location. Focus is on sales and the negotiable base salary is around $50K, with excellent commission opportunity.

Responsibilities:

-> Represents outside sales of firm's engineering services to oil & gas industry
-> Includes identifying sales opportunities, developing relationships and contracts, and closing sales
-> Having a good engineering understanding of engineering services that can be offered and effectively promoting such services to the market

Requirements:

-> BS degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering
-> 3+ years successful outside sales engineering experience in the oil & gas industry
-> Solid background in mechanical, structural analysis and related structural analysis engineering services
-> Knowledge/experience in FEA (finite element analysis), pipe stress analysis, and other related mechanical structural and material analysis, including mechanical structural failure and fracture analysis, is a strong plus
-> Track record demonstrating ability to establish relationships, develop, maintain, and increase a base of business, close sales and effectively manage an outside sales territory in the oil & gas industry, especially upstream related
-> Motivated, self-disciplined, and having strong inter-personal and communication skills
-> Ability to speak with customers about engineering design and analysis subjects
-> Must meet/exceed minimum annual sales goals
-> Existing customer base and contacts in the oil & gas industry a big plus

Questions you will be asked:

• Describe your 3+ years of successful outside sales engineering experience in the oil & gas industry. Include types & volume of sales, companies and dates.

• List your engineering college degree(s) and associated industry training, certifications and memberships.

• Describe your knowledge-experience in mechanical engineering design and analysis as related to structures (primarily upstream in the oil & gas industry, including FEA, Caesar Pipe Stress, etc.).

• Describe your ability to identify, develop, establish relationships, maintain and increase sales base and effectively close sales, and manage an outside sales territory in the oil & gas industry.

• Where do you currently live in the Houston area and what is your most recent base salary and commission earnings for an equivalent outside sales position in the oil & gas industry?
