Location: Saudi Arabia Position Description Tasks include: (1) Conduct feasibility studies on major additions/upgrades to IT systems and long term business strategies related to these systems. (2) Prepare scoping papers to define capital projects covering IT and market operation. (3) Interface with operating organizations, engineering and project management. (4) Perform economic evaluations and reliability studies on existing, potential and new IT systems and related facilities. (5) Conduct long term forecast and market research related to IT issues. (6) Prepare and make presentations to Corporate Management on IT related issues. (7) Full-time advisor and consultant to Saudi Aramco management and other organizations. (8) Mentor new facilities planning engineers for future development to Facilities Planning Specialist positions.
Selection Criteria (1) 10 years professional experience (15+years preferred); at least 10 years in IT engineering design including telecommunications and data networking. (2) Experience in Planning, design and implementation of IT systems including wide area and local area networks, internet intranet systems, fiber optics, wireless communications and voice, video and data communications systems. (3) Full knowledge and experience of network management tools and inter-networking devices such as routers, bridges connectors, fiber optics repeaters & amplifiers. (4) Experience and implementation of communication networks technologies including video conferencing and wireless LAN. (5) Experience in web based applications, e-mail, e-commerce, document management and SAP. (6) Experience in network management for evaluation of existing systems and proposing new designs. (7) Experience in developing corporate strategies and master plans for IT systems as well as Investment strategies. (8) Possession of excellent written and oral technical presentations skills. (9) Experience with professional consultant in planning and executing engineering studies, also in conducting market research related to long term evaluations, and in applying and analyzing system simulations and modeling. (10) Experience in performing economic evaluations, feasibility studies for budgetary approvals. Education: BS in Engineering or equivalent technical field. Has participated in post-graduate technical seminars and course work on own initiative related to technical specialty. Incumbent will normally have achieved recognition through activities on committees of professional societies or participation in University sponsored programs. Preferably has a Master of Science degree.
Comments Facilities Planning department is responsible for the development and coordination of the capital program throughout the Company. Information Technology & Electrical Facilities Planning Division is responsible for the coordination of planning for the Information Technology facilities, process control systems, as well as electrical facilities for entire Corporation in support of crude and gas programs. Functions include: (1) Assisting in the technical development and economic justification of the above organizations Capital Programs and Budgets, including conducting long range engineering studies. (2) Providing technical assistance in the interpretation of Saudi Arab Government directives. (3) Providing technical coordination during the pre-construction phase of non-Saudi Aramco projects which impact on Saudi Aramco facilities. (4) Developing feasible alternatives for individual capital projects. (5) Coordinating engineering feasibility studies. (6) Reviewing project specification with project management to insure economic design and conformance with Design Basis Scoping Papers. (7) Acting as interface for Saudi Aramco with the Saudi Electric Company (SEC) for all future electrical energy requirements, load forecasting and new electrical facilities, and (8) Supporting the company oil, gas, refining, and infrastructure projects.
