Location: Saudi Arabia POSITION DESCRIPTION: 1) Acts as project Electrical Design Engineer responsible for performing electrical engineering assignments and production of construction documents. Prepares design packages for electrical equipment, communication, fire protection / alarm, emergency generators, rotating equipment including drawings, scopes, technical specifications, Bill of Materials and estimates. 2) Develops calculations and electrical designs for commercial, light industrial, institutional, and residential facilities. 3) Provides expert advice and assistance to design, construction, and maintenance engineers and operating personnel on all matters pertaining to the electrical field. 4) Project support with respect to defining the scope, conducts design reviews for compliance with industry standards, and the inspection and commissioning of new electrical equipment. 5) Acts as Aramco's representative in dealings with vendors, manufacturers, Facilities Planning Dept. and Project Management. 6) Uses computer to run standard programs in order to solve engineering problems as required. 7) Outlines design intent, requirements and objectives. Coordinates the project development and leads a group of professionals. 8) Writes technical reports and provides solution to complex technical problems. 9) Performs cost analyses and "Value Engineering" studies as appropriate.
SELECTION CRITERIA: 1. Education/Qualifications: Must possess a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering as a minimum and shall have passed National Licensure Examination (Expats) or equivalent professional internship for Saudi nationals. 2. Training (Craft, Technical, Administrative or Professional): Electrical Engineering Design, Electrical Materials Engineering and Maintenance. Must have crafts training to use electrical tools and test instruments to conduct field surveys and use of engineering instruments in plotting the design. 3. Skills/Abilities/Knowledge: 1) Must be fluent in both written and spoken English. 2) Excellent computer skills. Familiarity with electrical software used in electrical design (such as ETAP, Elite, FlashWorks and NEC) used in developing various fields of electrical design of low voltage power distribution, grounding systems and lighting design. 3) Ability to prepare technical reports, letters and presentations 4. Experience Background 1) Must have ten (10) years working experience, of which seven (7) years as lead electrical design engineer. Experience is in initiating designs related to Electrical (low voltage) systems with strong background in lighting design, emergency generators, switchpanels, UPS systems, power monitoring systems, telecommunication SCS infrastructures, fire alarm and detection systems. 2) Well versed with International Building Code, National Electric Codes, National Fire Protection Association, Illumination Engineering of North America and other U.S. or European building codes. 3) Must be familiar with the SAES design procedures and specifications leading to construction documents. 4) Coordinate the development of scope of work, material take-off and cost estimate of project(s) including reviews of vendor material submittals. 5) Must be computer literate. 6) Must be able to handle multiple projects with aggressive schedules and complex problems. 7) Must be able to assist field project engineers and maintenance technicians, provide technical support during construction phase; resolve site construction and maintenance problems. 8) Requirement to travel if needed within or outside KSA.
