Location: Australia We are one of the largest manganese mines in the world, with customers in China, Japan, South Korea, the USA, India and Mexico. Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, this role is responsible for motivating and leading employees to achieve challenging safety and production targets. Supervising mining operators, blasting, preparation and sumps and pumps crews, a shift totals approximately 28 people.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of performance in leading teams towards achievement of work area and departmental goals and objectives. In achieving these business imperatives, candidates will be able to demonstrate applied contemporary leadership practices, including:

* Capability to engage the team through above average communication skills
* Delivery of safety and production outcomes by holding people accountable for their performance
* A desire to develop team members through on the job coaching and mentoring
* The ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the operation
* Relevant knowledge and experience of ancillary mining and support activities
Candidates will also be able to demonstrate previous supervisory experience and appropriate technical knowledge gained in open cut mining operations, or equivalent. This position requires you to work a cyclical shift roster, including day and night shift.
