BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) is Australia’s largest coal miner and exporter, and the world’s largest supplier to the seaborne coking coal market. With nine mines and a port in Central Queensland, the company is experiencing a major expansion phase, with its outstanding resource base and first class infrastructure assets providing a strong foundation on which to grow and strengthen the business.
Saraji is a large open cut coal operation which utilises a fleet of draglines and truck/shovel fleets to expose, haul and produce 7.5M tonnes of export hard coking coal with expansion plans to increase production output to +8M tonnes per annum. Employees reside in the nearby township of Dysart, a modern, well-equipped township, with all facilities, located 250km from Mackay and the Whitsunday Coast.
Saraji Mine are currently seeking experienced Dragline Operators to fill vacancies that exist within our Mining Department.
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate:
An absolute commitment to work safely, comply with all site safety standards and ensure a safe and environmentally healthy workplace;
The ability and aptitude to maintain high standards of safety, equipment serviceability, housekeeping and compliance with mine working procedures;
The ability to operate Marion 8050 and BE 1370 type draglines and associated equipment.
It would be advantageous to have the following:
Meaningful work experience in an open cut mine;
A willingness to work rotating rosters;
Ability to work within a team environment;
Sound work history;
Sound technical knowledge/experience in equipment operation;
Ability to provide references.
Candidates will be required to complete a Coal Board Medical and pass a Drug and Alcohol test. These are shift positions and salaries will be paid in accordance with the Saraji Mine Enterprise Agreement.
