Position Synopsis
A unique opportunity has arisen for a Senior Geologist to join our Business Development team in Perth, WA. Reporting to the Global Exploration Manager for Iron Ore you will provide support with exploration research activities, program planning and implementation and database management.
The core accountabilities of the role include:
* An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development,
* Responsibility for all aspects of the Global Deposits Database, including updates to deposits, ensuring data quality, and acquiring, sourcing and researching new data,
* Producing competitive intelligence around tenement management, exploration activity and updates to resources/reserves,
* Provision of technical input into studies,
* Assisting in design, implementation, budgeting, interpretation and reporting of exploration programs,
* Assisting in ensuring geological competency testing, and adherence to standards and procedures
* Participation in Resource Range Analysis and Peer Review of exploration results, cross sections and interpretations,
* Provision of management reporting on exploration activities, and
* Assisting in the identification and facilitation of training needs for site-based geoscience staff.
Skills and Experience
A degree qualified Geology professional, with a strong commitment to workplace safety, you will bring to the role considerable competence in senior geoscience roles including exposure to project design, contractor management, and ideally joint venture management.
Your skills include capability in drilling program design, budgeting and management, resource modelling, exploration project management with strong planning and tracking skills and strong leadership and team management skills.
