A challenging opportunity exists for an individual to join a team of professionals in the area of Financial Services. Reporting to the Superintendent - Financial Services, you will be responsible for all aspects of the half yearly external reporting process, as well as managing the Governance/Audit processes across the company.
You will be responsible for ensuring external reporting requirements and government reporting are prepared and submitted on a timely basis. Participation in the annual Stewardship Review, co-ordination of the Sarbanes Oxley program, external financial statement audits and various tax audits is an integral part of the role.
As the successful candidate you will possess a professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA or equivalent) or working towards a designation. You will have relevant accounting experience either in industry or a chartered environment. Strengths in financial reporting (International Financial Reporting Standards) would be a benefit, as would expert knowledge of SAP (SEM-BCS and R/3) and Microsoft Excel.
Your technical strengths will be complemented by excellent communication skills, allowing you to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organization. With an eye for detail and strong time management skills, you perform well under pressure to achieve deadlines and reporting requirements.

This is a term role until February 2011. The role is based in our Yellowknife Office, Monday-Friday. Yellowknife offers all of the amenities you would expect of a capital city, plus authentic adventure that is hard to find anywhere else. Take a dogsled ride, ice fish, snowmobile, or in summer, boat or swim in pristine freshwater lakes all within minutes of the city. Occasional travel to the EKATI mine site is required.
