THE ROLE
CCL has been requested by a major international oil and gas company to provide a Local Purchasing Agent to be based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria on long term basis. Missions to other locations as requested. Contract renewable annually. Internationally competitive rates. This position is open to Nigerian citizens only.
THE PERSON
Some experience in Oil and Gas industry, including a basic knowledge of Procurement activities, Supply Chain and Logistics processes. General administration of purchase and transit activities (RFQ, CFT, PO, transit filing and archiving). Dispatch / retrieve surface mails from Mail Room and forward them to locations as necessary. Document control, circulation and dispatch of purchase and transit documents for review, validation and / or signature (routing slips, waiver forms, PO copies, JCCs). Scan and e-file signed POs and purchase documents. Expedite delivery of materials by phone or e-mail at buyers request. Close follow-up of JCC or Service Tickets, in order to get technical approvals before vendors payment. Investigate delayed payment problems with related teams at buyers request. Coordinate with transit to get / retrieve shipping documents. Receive shipping agents invoices, record and dispatch them to Shipping Team. Report to Head of Nigeria Procurement and coordinate with buyers for daily activity. Responsible for promotion of Company safety, environment and quality policies and programs, carrying out specific HSE duties.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Diploma, degree or equivalent. Good knowledge of MS applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Within the framework of the Procurement & Contracts Team of Field Operations Division, and in compliance with Company policies and procedures, performs tasks related to the local Purchasing assistance. Excellent command of written and spoken English, good communication skills. French appreciated.
