Our client, a Canadian-owned multi-discipline engineering consulting company, is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join and grow with their Calgary team. The client is involved with project design and management expertise within the municipal, commercial and industrial communities. We are currently looking for an Intermediated to Senior Mechanical Engineer with 8+ years of experience. A successful candidate will assume a role that will involve both project management and design work on a project for a large Oil & Gas (downstream) company. You will be involved in the full process from start to finish and will act as the point of contact for all activates related to this project. The successful candidate will play an active role in our mechanical department and can deliver results that meet and/or exceed our client’s requirements and expectations.
The successful candidate would be responsible for:
* Lead the development and preparation of the mechanical design and project management aspect of the projects
* Knowledgeable in all areas of responsibility of the mechanical department
* Prepare and/or assist in the cost estimates and schedules of equipment for bids and proposals
* Preparation of technical requirements for designs and proposals
* All project management activities related to this one project
The following skills, experience and qualifications in which a candidate will have:
* A minimum of 5 years experience in a Project Manager and mechanical design capacity
* Various experience in piping systems and mechanical equipment
* Process design and equipment selection
* Building Services – HVAC, Controls, Plumbing and Fire Protection Systems
* Commercial Building design knowledge
* Preparation of drawings and specifications for approval, tenders and construction
* The diversity to work individually or in a team environment
* Outstanding communication skills and the ability to work with tight deadlines
Additional experience that would be an asset:
* Petroleum retail facility design
* Project management
* Project cost estimation
Minimum Requirements
* A degree in Mechanical Engineering
* Alberta Experience is a must
* A member of APEGGA and registered as a Professional Engineer
