THE ROLE
CCL has been requested by a major international oil and gas company to provide a Drilling and Completions Contract Engineer. This is a residential position. One year renewable contract. Internationally competitive Daily Rate. Good conditions.
THE PERSON
5 - 10 years previous experience in both pre and post contract engineering in large oil & gas projects. Pre-contract experience is COMPULSORY. Drilling & Completion related contracts experience (4 years minimum) is COMPULSORY. Previous experience in Nigeria and using the Nipex procedures is a plus. Organisation and management of pre-qualification and Call for Tender stages of contract development for drilling and related services in collaboration with Nigerian authorities. Participation in evaluation of commercial and contractual components of tenders. Effective and smooth contract administration up to and including close out: involves drafting of contracts, review of change requests, making recommendations and preparation of change orders. Contractual support to drilling team in operations (regular visits to Port Harcourt and Lagos). Maintenance of accurate and up to date records for the commercial status of contracts. Verification of the validity of contractually required documents such as bonds, certificates etc.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Ideal candidate will have strong experience of contracts preparation and administration (familiarity with Client contract forms a plus). Excellent command of written contractual English. Negotiation and organisation skills. Computer literate. Good communication skills / team spirit. Fluent in English. Applications welcome from local residents.
