THE ROLE
CCL has been asked by a major international oil company to provide an Advanced Facilities Specialist. Travel to field locations to assist with installs, troubleshooting, programming and commissioning will be part of the job. Assets range geographically from Alaska to the Gulf of Mexico. Remuneration will depend on experience and qualifications. This is a key position with good long term prospects with a very progressive US oil company. This position is being handled by CCLs Houston office.
THE PERSON
Minimum 10 years experience as a Control Systems Programmer or Technician. Oil / Gas field experience desirable. Coordination and supervision experience desirable. Successful candidate will fulfil a SCADA Coordinator role for assets as part of the Process & Construction Team. Primary responsibilities involve instrumentation, controls and communications support with emphasis on SCADA systems. Interface on a regular basis with IT. Drive SCADA consistency / standardization across all assets. Help coordinate approval of SCADA directives. Be actively involved in Technician Community of Practice with potential to become point person within Community for Instrumentation & Electrical Technicians. Support both planned and emergent needs from asset teams on controls, instrumentation and communications issues. Work closely with Process & Construction Department Electrical Engineers and asset operations personnel to ensure strong communication, collaboration and goal alignment. Coordinate with field locations / IT to track / prioritize I&E support requests from asset teams. Work with field operations personnel to optimize existing instrumentation and controls.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
HS Diploma; A.S. degree or equivalent experience a plus. Excellent negotiation skills and commercial awareness. Strong networking and influencing skills. Good knowledge and working relationships with contractors. Experience working international as well as domestic, especially with respect to operations, environmental issues, and government regulations. Knowledge of HSE issues. Fluent written and spoken English. US residency or work permit essential.
