Our Client:
Our client is an integrated International oil and gas company with operations. The culture of the organization is founded on strong values and high ethical standards. The company aims to provide long-term growth and continue to develop technologies and manage projects that will meet the world¡¦s energy and climate changes in a sustainable way. The company currently holds a substantial land base of oil sands leases in Northern Alberta which will result in full field development producing over 200,000 bbl/d. The Oil sands Pilot is coming on stream in 2010 at 20,000 bbl/d with plans for further expansion, and the current 10,000 bbl/d SAGD facility is on schedule. The second Oil sands Project is in the planning phase for developing a 40,000 bbl/d commercial plant.
Our client is seeking an experienced Geoscientist to joint their team to contribute to the success of their projects.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
„h Build the company¡¦s local technical competence within the geology and/or geophysics disciplines related to fields in production offshore Newfoundland and Labrador as well as possible future field developments
„h Evaluate and assess geological models, production depletion plans as well as drilling plans
„h Develop extensive contacts with relevant technical networks within Canada and the corporate head office.
„h Participate and represent the company in various partner committees
Skills/Qualifications:
„h University Degree in Geology or Geophysics. A Master's degree is considered a strong asset
„h P. Geo. designation and eligible for registration as a professional geoscientist with PEG-NL
„h Strong business acumen with the ability to relate subsurface information to business objectives
„h Preferably a minimum of 7 -12 years experience working in reservoir geoscience on Canada¡¦s east coast
„h Experienced user of OpenWorks, Petrel and other industry standard analytical tools
„h Experience from well operations is beneficial
„h Strong understanding of reservoir geology/geophysics and development planning
„h Ability to be hands-on and create business opportunities and have well structured work practices
„h Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment of highly motivated professionals
„h Self-starter with the ability to handle multiple projects at multiple phases.
„h Strong communication skills with the ability to establish strong relationships.
„h Adaptable and flexible to changing business requirements.
Compensation/Remuneration:
Compensation will include competitive base salary, bonus, long term incentive, pension and savings plan, personal allowance, vacation, 10 personal days off per year, office closure between Christmas and New Years, and excellent benefits package.
