OPERATING AREA: Oilsands, Northern Alberta
Our Client:
Our client is an integrated oil and gas company with operations worldwide. The organization has a focus on oilsands SAGD projects in northern Alberta and exploration and joint venture production in offshore eastern Canada. The organization is seeking an experienced Production Revenue Accountant to join their Oilsands Accounting team. This position will be primarily responsible for all the production/revenue accounting functions (including system implementation, configuration, and support) for their SAGD production initiating in 2010.
Reporting Structure:
This position reports to the Manager of Oilsands Accounting.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
„h Work within a team with vendors and corporate head office to implement Energy Components, production revenue and royalty modules.
„h Work to configure and test the Energy Component System so that is ready and capable of handling the first steam and first oil in 2010.
„h Manage all fixed data requirements within the system as operations evolve.
„h Ensure data is gathered and all monthly data entry and reporting requirements are completed to meet corporate and regulatory deadlines.
„h Manage all aspects of daily interface with the ERCB and the registry.
„h Work with operations, marketing and other company functions to continually improve processes, procedures and communications as they relate to all aspects o0f the production/revenue accounting function.
„h Ensure material balances for bitumen, diluent, water/steam, and natural gas are completed and maintained on an ongoing basis and metering differences are maintained with tolerances established in the project approval documents.
„h Ensure monthly vouchers are passed to SAP to record purchase and sales activities consistent with corporate reporting schedules.
Skills/Qualifications:
„h CAPPA graduate with 10+ years of varied experience in operational accounting.
„h 2 + years of demonstrated success in accounting for SAGD operations.
„h Knowledge of regulatory and registry reporting requirements.
„h Experience with Energy Components production and revenue accounting an asset.
„h A demonstrated proficiency in learning and adapting to new systems and a willingness to learn new production/revenue accounting systems.
„h Exposure to SAP Financial Accounting systems would be an asset.
„h Ability to work within a team environment and matrix organization.
„h Experience working with operational field and engineering functions.
„h Self-initiator with the ability to work independently.
Compensation/Remuneration:
Compensation includes competitive base salary, bonus, long term incentives, benefits, vacation, personal days off, savings and pension plans.
