Contract Buyer needed for a long-term contract opportunity in New Orleans, LA, with a large independent oil and gas company. The ideal match for this position will have a bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent experience and seven years of experience purchasing oilfield equipment and services. Experience with drilling and operations required. Must have working knowledge of business and contract law, Louisiana maritime law, strong contract language writing and comprehension skills, and general knowledge of procurement policies and procedures. Responsibilities include processing requisitions, purchase orders, and contracts for materials and services. Additional duties include preparing bid proposals, conducting bidding, evaluating and recommending the winning bids, and negotiating and scheduling shipments and inspections. All applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
