POSITION SUMMARY:
The ideal candidate for this Land Administration Analyst position is knowledgeable in all areas of Land Administration work. Must manage time and work effort effectively and efficiently that results in sound business decisions that benefit the company. Must be able to gather and analyze complex data from all sources of information and documents to reach an accurate conclusion. These include leases, contracts, licenses, division orders, title opinions, assignments, probate and all other such work documents. This may include online, regulatory and statutory sources with a sound appreciation for jurisdictional title standards. This position requires someone knowledgeable about the upstream energy business, industry practices, trends, regulations, laws, and rulings as they pertain to our core business activities. This position requires someone skilled in all facets of ownership including various interaction levels with internal and external business partners.
In addition, position requires someone with strong analytical skills, computer skills and general knowledge about the use of core computer applications along with related applications that support our business effort. This position requires someone who can manage workload obligations of analysis, research and gathering data using an imaged document and workflow environment. This position requires someone who can effectively interact with the upstream organization using good interpersonal skills, collaborate effectively within the department, while aligning to company goals and objectives and embracing Company Values and Habits.
ROLE / RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Analyze and validate global ownership, property and production information related to our core business processes. This includes review of all leases/licenses and related contracts and applying that information to the facts at hand
• Analyze and validate all lease, contract and broker information, determine mineral ownership, payment requirements, significant obligations, gross/net acreage positions while discerning acres that are developed/undeveloped, and capture all of same within Tobin Land Suite by data entry that results in an accurate record of the company's assets and obligations
• Analyze title opinions, title curative resulting in the setup, revision and maintenance of all property ownership information in SAP/PRA and our global property management responsibilities. This includes understanding and manipulating marketing, unit tracts, bearer groups, and all other related data in SAP/PRA
• This position must communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external business partners but especially with our onshore and global Land partners and owners. Must obtain needed information and/or documents or convey information for use by the recipient
• This position will also assist in capturing departmental and individual performance measurements. Of particular emphasis is responsiveness to our colleagues in making information available for accurate processing of production volumes, production revenue, and joint interest billing while also capturing legal descriptions for mapping and asset information to accurately capture the company's investment
• Be familiar with the formats of various legal descriptions so as to analyze spacing and unit map information and apply that information to our core business processes
• Understand internal document management process to ensure correspondence, instruments, records, and all other data are filed, imaged and indexed appropriately for retrieval and analysis
• Be aligned to company needs to monitor and measure business activities and to continuously improve our business processes. Conduct all business activities according to Company policies including business ethics, Company application of Sarbanes-Oxley legislation, and all system/process security restrictions. Must be willing to become actively involved in all facets of Land Administration work and organizations related to the profession and industry
Qualifications
FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:
• Strong knowledge of Land Administration - understand the concepts of lease, royalty, and joint interest partners; laws and regulatory provisions regarding oil and gas extraction
• Strong knowledge of oil and gas operations, analytical and computer skills
• Understand how to calculate mineral interests and all division of interest ownership types and burdens
• Understand all related contracts including before and after payout calculations
• Understand the essential requirements of ownership transfers and be able to interpret the effects of a wide range of ownership-transfer documents

EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 5 - 8 years of oil and gas experience in Land, Land Administration, Division Order, or Land Development is preferred. Will also consider transferable skills gained in other professions
EDUCATION / TRAINING:
• A Bachelor Degree is preferable or commensurate experience
• Certified Division Order Analyst, Certified Lease Title Analyst, or Certified Petroleum Landman designations are a plus
