Geophysical Spec-Interpreter /Prospect Generation

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education/Experience: BS Geophysics or related field (e.g., Geology, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or other science and engineering fields). Graduate study or extensive formal training in specialty field is desirable. Normally expected to have twelve years of professional experience, at least five years of which should be as a geophysicist.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent is expected to perform one or more of the following activities, the number and combination depending on the assignment. Conducts in-depth analyses of geophysical data to evaluate the adequacy of field parameters, processing techniques and interpretation methods. Serves as consultant to management on seismic problems that require an unusually high degree of skill and experience for their solution. Acts as a technical advisor to assigned professionals and researchers as is necessary to satisfactorily perform work assignments. Prepares reports and oral presentations of the results of studies for review by management. Critically reviews work of other geophysicists upon request and submits own recommendations. Assists in training the less experienced geophysicists through discussions and work sessions. Attends meetings and conferences that contribute significantly to advancing the individual's expertise.

The successful applicant must be an experienced seismic interpreter with preferably a minimum of 10 years experience in prospect generation. The candidate must: be able to integrate geologic and geophysical data to rapidly produce high quality prospects. The candidate should also be highly knowledgeable in aspects of seismic acquisition and processing. be required to assimilate geological and geophysical data to rank prospective areas and formulate an exploration strategy based on basin analysis, risk assessment, ultimate potential and economic analysis. to evaluate large amounts of data rapidly and to develop risk assessed and ranked prospects is essential. should possess strong oral and written communication skills and be able to contribute in a team environment. must take an active leadership role in the above, applying its use in new reservoir fairway potential and prediction as it impacts Saudi Aramco's future exploration programs.
