Essential Job Functions: Provide engineering to existing production facilities to identify opportunities, to address potential problems and address facility de-bottlenecking requirement. Incumbent should support the capital program for surface crude production facilities by conducting process engineering studies during the pre-DBSP stage (pre-FEED); provide technical support to Project Management during the project proposal and detailed design stage and be able to challenge design if required. Incumbent should conduct process simulation of surface production facilities using Aspentech software ( HYSYS or Aspen plus) or PRO-II. Provide engineering support as part of task force for special studies or incident investigation.
SELECTION CRITERIA: B.S. Chemical Engineering. M.S. in Chemical Engineering and Professional Engineer Certification are desirable. Ten plus years of experience, in upstream crude oil processing, crude oil desalting, produced water treatment, Gas compression & conditioning, and crude oil stabilization facilities. Essential experience in upstream crude oil processing facilities involving surface crude oil production facilities three phase separation fouling studies and heat transfer in shell & tube and fin fan exchangers crude oil stabilization gas compression & conditioning (dehydration-refrigeration for conditioning) crude oil desalting produced water treatment/disposal (API separators) utility water, steam, gravity sewer and instrument air systems Review engineering standards Teach engineering courses and mentor young engineers
REQUIRED SKILLS: Proficient in Hysis or PRO II or Aspen Tech simulation software. Expertise in heat exchanger software (HTRI or other), heat and energy integration (knowledge of Pinch analysis). Process design of equipment like shell & tube heat exchangers, air coolers, piping two phase and single phase, significance of flow regimes, 2 phase and 3 phase separators, pumps, compressor, columns (absorbers and distillation). Troubleshooting skills and control strategies for heat and mass transfer operations of common equipment like compressors, pumps, columns, exchangers, fired heaters (for reboilers/hot oil etc).
