POSITION DESCRIPTION: The candidate will be performing the position of an architect in King Abdullah Petroleum Studies & Research Center Project Department.
SELECTION CRITERIA: Nine (9) years, preferably in the oil industry or similar process industry, such that the incumbent is clearly recognized as an expert. Must have a thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, U.S. Codes, Standards and Specifications.
COMMENTS: King Abdulaziz Petroleum Studies & Research Center (KAPSARC) will construct a complex of buildings that will include a main building that will house data and research facilities and administration offices, a building dedicated for a physical and cyber library, a convention center with support facilities, educational and training facilities, and an energy exhibition center. It will also construct residential housing compound. KAPSARC will be an independent organization, complete with its own research, administrative, and operating staff. Two square kilometers of land, located along the King Khalid Airport Expressway in Riyadh has been allocated for this Center.
The site preparation will consist primarily of:
A. Permanent Facilities 1. Clearing and grading approximately 1,800,000 square meters of land for the permanent facilities. 2. Constructing an access road to link the proposed site with the existing King Khalid Airport Expressway. This scope will consist primarily of two kilometers of 4-Lanes road (2-lanes each direction) and one kilometer of bridges. 3. Construction of permanent electrical utilities, water supply facilities, including two water wells, water distribution and drainage systems, a sewer system and sewage treatment plant. 4. Construction of permanent communications facilities. 5. Initial residential development.
B. Temporary Facilities 1. Construction of a temporary fence to enclose the area. 2. Rough grading 200,000 square meters of land for Saudi Aramco's and the construction of contractors' temporary offices and residential camp. 3. Construction of Saudi Aramco's temporary construction office and catering facilities.
