Senior Regulatory and Severance Tax Accountant

Please read carefully the following detailed job description. This is an ASAP direct hire need.
Responsibilities:
• Texas gas severance tax reporting
• Researching and identifying tax incentives and deductions
• Maintaining Texas gas severance tax high cost master spreadsheet
• Filing form AP-180
• File forms necessary to amend previous filings
• Transfer funds and reverse and re-book adjustments in the Accounting system
• Calculate and record monthly Texas gas severance tax high cost accrual
• Process applicable reports relating to Louisiana gas and oil severance tax
• File and pay GLO oil and gas royalties
• Perform various account reconciliations as applicable
Candidate Profile:
• Degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA a plus.
• 8 years of upstream domestic E&P accounting experience with at least 2 years focused on Texas regulatory and severance tax reporting
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be self-motivated, self-directed and have independent and reasonable judgment
• Ability to effectively adapt to changes in industry standards/practices and stay current on applicable legislation
• Effective time management, organizational and problem-solving skills are critical
• Outstanding research skills are imperative in this role
• Ability to present effective solutions as necessary
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, as this position will collaborate with people within and outside of the organization
