Location: Algeria
Drilling HSE Advisor (rig based) required for operator in Algeria to start ASAP for an initial 12 months contract with option to extend, working a 3 x 3 rotation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support accident prevention programs. Specific areas of focus will be the higher risk aspects of the site activities, e.g., cranes and rigging operations, dropped objects prevention, fall protection, land transport.
- Familiar with operator Safety Management System and its application in the field.
- Lead in the development and execution of rig-specific health and safety assurance processes and rig site safety management programs.
- Participate as required in accident/incident investigations.
- Conduct and participate in reviews, inspections and audits of drilling contractor and 3rd Party Contractors on location.
- Fully participate with maintaining the ISO 14001 - 2004 Environmental Accreditation at rig site.
- Support health and safety training programs by assisting as required in the preparation of and/or conducting health and safety related training.
- Participate in the Safety Management System and respond as needed at any time day or night to events in support of drilling operations.
- Work to ensure consistency of approach and application of health and safety programs
- Participate in Wells related meetings, e.g., Operations meetings, Well site Supervisors meetings and Drilling Contractors meetings.
- Assist with industrial hygiene surveys as appropriate to ensure that employees are adequately protected from hazards. Recommend controls for exposures and assist in implementation as needed.
- Keep on top of Control of work and make sure contractors understand the BPXA way to work.
- Assess and support contractor�s HSE advisor if needed.
Key Requirements
- Related degree or equivalent
- Proven experience in Health, Safety, Security, Environmental (HSSE) disciplines.
- Experience working as Drilling HSE Advisor
- Familiarity with applicable industry and government safety, health standards and regulations.
- Strong facilitation skills for use in leading team meetings, incident investigations, risk assessments, etc.
- Proficient user of computer applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Desirable:
- Experience working in North Africa is preferred
- French speaking
- Experience working on Land Rig Drilling Operation
