Location: London A large oil and gas operator is currently seeking two Wellsite Geologists (back to back) on a 14/14 rotation, to commence as soon as possible. Contract duration will be approximately three months.
Purpose:
- Follow-up and supervision of all geological operations at the rigsite;
- QC and analysis of well data (Mud Logging, LWD, Wireline logs and Formation pressures);
- Ensure the daily reporting using Peloton WellView (after training) and data transmission/distribution.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Follow-up of well data acquisition operations and related quality control;
- Preparation of the Daily Geological Report and Coring Reports;
- Interpreting lithology, gas and oil shows (Gas chromatography, Fluorescence, QFT/Multi-point QFT);
- Execution of quick look analysis (e.g. Gas While Drilling data evaluation, Logs and formation pressure test analysis and interpretation);
- Transmission/distribution of daily reports, wellsite litholog, mudlogs, show logs, Biostrat reports, LWD/WL plots & digital data;
- Supervision and QC of the Mud logging and Wireline logging contractors activity and data acquisition;
- Execution of Wellsite Litholog possibly using GEO Suite 6 (opportunity of basic training provision);
- Organize shipping of the geological samples to Operator warehouse/labs (cuttings, cores and fluid samples).
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Geology or equivalent from a recognised educational institution;
- Experience in wellsite operations with E&P Companies, Contractors or as Consultant;
- Previous experience in Deep Water preferably in the UK /Norwegian NS or Atlantic Margin area of Faroe and Ireland.
