Position Synopsis
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Document Controller to join our Information Management team. Reporting to the Information and Knowledge Manager, this pivotal role is responsible for centralised support and guidance to all BHP Billiton Iron Ore Controlled Document stakeholders, including Document Control Officers (DCO’s), and ensuring a consistent and managed approach to Document Control across the business. In addition, this role identifies opportunities for continuous improvement; measures compliance to legislation, policies, standards and procedures; and rectifying non-compliance in a timely and effective manner.
Key areas of responsibility include:
* Provision of centralised business process and system support, leadership, guidance and active mentoring;
* Provision of informal process training;
* Performing regular compliance monitoring and reporting;
* Maintain and manage access requests to the Controlled Document System.
Skills and Experience
Extensive experience (minimum 10 years) in Document Control is critical for this role as you will be instrumental in imparting and sharing your knowledge of business and system Document Control processes, change management, governance and the legal and regulatory environments governing document and records management.
Your ability to work collaboratively with others, whilst identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, is critical to your success in this role. This role will provide an opportunity for you to make a difference and use your strong problem solving and interpersonal skills as you lead, mentor and guide colleagues to follow best practice to achieve business goals.
The person we seek will ideally have obtained a professional qualification in Document Control, Records and/or Document Management, Archive Administration or Audit.
