Basic Functions:
Evaluate well log data for the reservoir modeling and simulation project in the US team in the Southern Business Unit
Input the data into reservoir modeling software
Provide petrophysical support to the other TAQA North Business units
Relationship:
Reports to the Geoscience Team Leader, Southern Business Unit
Works with a multi-discipline team including the Exploitation and Production Engineers, Operations and field staff, Reservoir Engineer, Geophysicist, Landman and Engineering Tech
Specific Responsibilites:
Using petrophysical software, evaluate well logs for the US projects
Input data into reservoir simulation software and construct reservoir models in conjunction with engineering and geological staff for the purpose of quantifying OOIP, assessing performance and identifying opportunities
Reconcile log data with cores, drill stem tests, and geological sample descriptions, using petrophysical software
May be required to work with other TAQA North teams
Qualifications:
Professional Geologist or engineer with 10+ years of experience in oil and gas
Experience working in the Williston Basin in the Midale, Ratcliffe, Bakken and Nisku formations
Familiarity with reservoir simulation software and Accumap
Familiarity with carbonates is necessary; Williston Basin experience would be an asset
Experienced working with old well logs
Enthusiastic, highly motivated, team player with good organizational and technical skills
Creative individual with a desire to continuously learn and develop their skills
