POSITION DESCRIPTION
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Carry out general deck duties, crane operations and helicopter deck operations, as directed by the Vessel Operations Superintendent, Cargo Superintendent, Deck Supervisor and Crane Operator, in a safe and efficient manner.
Principle Functions of the Position:
Assist with all aspects of cargo handling i.e. assisting in loading / discharging of crude oil, crude oil washing, tank cleaning and the associated maintenance of cargo equipment.
Work on deck, assisting with the offloading and back loading of equipment.
Carry out general deck duties, including painting, general housekeeping and planned maintenance of deck equipment.
Safety Critical Functions
Act as Helicopter deck Assistant for helicopter operations or as a member of the Emergency Response Team.
Participate in all drills and duties as determined by the Station Bill and Emergency Response Manual.
Experience Factors
Minimum 2 years offshore experience.
Minimum 6 months experience as a Helicopter Deck Assistant.
Previous experience of lifting, slinging and rigging.
COMPETENCE CRITERIA
Academic Achievements / Certifications
Basic literacy (English language) and mathematical skills
Able Seaman or Efficient Deck Hand certificate.
Offshore Survival with HUET
Demonstrated Knowledge / Skills
Good knowledge of slinging and rigging techniques.
Awareness of hazards and risks of lifting operations.
