POSITION DESCRIPTION
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Carry out the operation of process plant and production related equipment safely and efficiently, under the direction of the Senior Process Technician and Production Supervisor.
Principle Functions of the Position:
Ensure the safe and efficient operation of process plant, systems and associated equipment during the shift, and to ensure proper hand-over during shift change.
Start up, operate and shut down process and process-related plant, gas injection, water treatment and gas systems etc. as required or under the direction of the Senior Process Technician, Central Control Room Operator, and/or Process Superintendent or Production Supervisor.
Operate, utility system monitoring and control
The FCS system; Well control equipment and panel; under direction of Senior process Technician;
Process and process-related valving.
Safety Critical Functions
Provide the Process Superintendent or Production Supervisor with information during an emergency and assist with emergency response as per procedures and instructions.
Experience Factors
Minimum 1 year of offshore experience.
Minimum 4 years experience as an operator / technician for high-pressure hydrocarbon process plant.
Previous FPSO experience.
Control Room Operations.
COMPETENCE CRITERIA
Academic Achievements / Certifications
Good standard of literacy (English language) and mathematical skills
Technical apprenticeship to City and Guilds for an equivalent training scheme
Offshore Survival with HUET
Basic Understanding of:
Ability to work as part of a small multi-discipline team and to motivate others.
Knowledge of mechanical, instrument and electrical systems.
Understanding of the purpose of control systems and the causes and effects of significant alarm trips.
