The Position
Based in Houston, the Project Manager is responsible for overall project management for diverse U.S. and International studies and projects, to assist clients in improving their operating results. The Project Manager will lead projects in operations efficiency evaluation & benchmarking analyses, evaluation of client operating performance, identification and resolution of field operating problems, and a wide range of field operations improvement projects. This position requires moderate travel in the U.S. and internationally.
Accountabilities

Project Management (60%)
• Identify the project scope, completion date, team members, sponsors and clients with the lead Ziff Energy Executive
• Create project budgets including scope of work and timeline, and closely monitor project budget
• Lead internal and external kick-off meetings and ensure project scope is well-defined
• Take initiative in managing resourcing requirements (people, technology, capital, etc)
• Provide technical direction to analysts & associates and hands-on assistance with project execution
• Coordinate efforts of all team members towards timely and cost effective completion of the project
• Lead client debriefing meetings, and capture and integrate client feedback into internal processes
• Implement and follow through on recommendations
• Lead ‘lessons learned’ meetings, and ensure continuous improvement is applied to every project

Marketing/Business Development (40%)
• Support marketing efforts in the U.S. and internationally, providing technical assistance to marketing executives
• Establish relationships with clients and prospects
• Lead and encourage effective ‘Client Care’ by the E & P group in its projects
• Develop new markets for ZEG’s products and services
• Write articles, contribute to marketing materials, including Ziff client newsletters, and present papers.

The Requirements
The Project Manager will have a degree in Petroleum Engineering, with 10+ years of hands-on oil & gas field operations experience, especially offshore. Experience with FPSO operations essential. Knowledge of field operating practices related to reservoir and well performance, well servicing, and artificial lift systems is required, along with working experience in surface repairs and maintenance of equipment, including automation, compressors, generators, and production facilities, including gas plants. The Project Manager will have experience with evaluation of oil and gas field operating performance (e.g. technical audits), economic evaluations, contract issues, and legal and regulatory requirements. Solid project management skills, including analysis, client relations, and organizational skills are required. The Project Manager will have a working knowledge of Access, Excel, and PowerPoint with proficiency in Word and Outlook. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed. Experience in a consulting office is highly desirable.
