THE ROLE
CCL has been requested by an oil services company to recruit a Senior Petrophysicist to join G&G team, to perform tasks, give advice and support. Regular flights, travel insurance, accommodation, local transportation and medical insurance provided. Client is also responsible for the payment of Libyan taxes. Work on a 49/21 work / leave rotation, 6 days per week / 8 hours per day. 12 month (renewable) contract, competitive daily rate.
THE PERSON
Several years experience in log analysis. Control quality of incoming / older logs, make log interpretations / build petrophysical models. Load raw logs at reception for QC / environmental corrections; unload / replace with final logs at reception. Keep log database clean and tidy. Control quality of rush logs / keep contact with Contractors for corrections until reception of final logs for each well. Keep track of Contractor performance in Company folder. Compute a rush / final interpretation. Calculate permeability with neural networks. Perform electrofacies / rock typing with fuzzy logics, neural network, with logs / core data. Build / maintain field scale petrophysical models. Map areal / vertical parametric variations (eg formation water salinity, permeability) in / between fields, link to rock types, diagenesis, tectonic events, etc. Bring support for core depth shifts.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Degree required. Strong knowledge in rock physics, CCA and SCAL. Knowledge of logging tools other than currently used ones an advantage. Ability to support GS in establishing logging programs and transfer knowledge / know-how to G&G staff. Show knowledge of mud logs. Make an interpretation of current petrophysical parameters, porosity, Vcl/Vsh, Sw in Elan and in IP using SCAL data; otherwise use the fields model. Fluent English.
