Qualifications:
An Engineering Degree or Technologist Diploma with strong academic credentials.
Five to ten years of drilling experience with preference given to Sask and Alberta experience.
Wellsite supervision experience of drilling operations is a definite asset.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with both field and office staff.
Horizontal Well drilling experience in the Bakken formation would is desirable but is not a requirement.
Responsibilities:
Design and coordinate drilling programs from AFE preparation to completion of field operations.
This will require the candidate to generate the cost estimate, raise the AFE, coordinate services, take daily calls and invoice coding/approval.
Ensure surveying and lease construction operations are ongoing in a safe and efficient manner.
Interact extensively with surface land department, geologists, exploitation engineers and service companies to generate the drilling programs.
Manage the company’s drilling operations in a safe, professional and cost effective manner, ensuring complete adherence to safety, regulatory compliance, cost control and competitive bid procedures.
Coordinate the utilization of internal resources as well as external consulting staff required to achieve ongoing drilling operations.
Provide drilling engineering support to the Development Teams for all the company’s drilling activities.
Provide ongoing technical support and assist with the development of drilling practices and techniques that will fully utilize available new technology.
Support the Drilling & Completions Manager in any other related activities, as requested.
